Coach Katch got interested in boxing after watching "Rocky" at a young age. He picked up his first pair of gloves after watching an Arturo Gatti fight when he was nine years old and has been in love with the sport ever since.
Coach Katch was born with congenital heart disease and had open heart surgery when he was four. Even though he was allowed to wrestle and do boxing for fitness, Coach had to sneak getting in the ring from his arents and doctors. Coach Katch knew he couldn’t keep the secret from them and had to hang up his gloves before he got started.
Coach has always been passionate about boxing and knew he was much more than just a fan. He had a stroke when he was 22 from complications with his heart issue that made the left side of his body paralyzed for a bit. Boxing once again was a driving force in his life, and it helped him get back to full mobility.
After going through rehab and fighting his way back to health, Coach knew right then that he wanted to help others achieve their fitness, health, and life goals. What better way than through boxing! Coach Katch got his USA Boxing certification and has been coaching for years.
